About this exercise
IELTS Part 2 tests your ability to speak for 1–2 minutes on a topic without interruption. Fluent speakers lose marks on structure — no clear opening, trailing off at the end. This drill gives you 1 minute to plan your notes, then 2 minutes to speak aloud using those notes as a teleprompter.
IELTS Speaking Part 2 — Cue Card
Describe a meal you really enjoyed. You should say: what the meal was, where you had it, who you were with, and explain why you enjoyed it so much.
One sentence to start clearly — state your topic directly.
What happened — the key event or idea.
Specifics — names, numbers, feelings, sequence of events.
Wrap up clearly — effect, lesson, or how you felt.
